Fun Dental Conferences to Attend

Dental conferences are a unique opportunity for dental professionals to engage and network. Most conferences offer Continuing Education (CE) to help a dentist further their career and expand their scope of practice and skills.

Some conferences welcome dental professionals from all over the world and offer unparalleled education programs that help introduce the latest technology and changes to the dental industry. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite meetings below.

1. Academy of General Dentistry Meeting

The AGD hosts a variety of events and CE courses throughout the year, but holds their major meeting once a year. The meeting takes place in a different city every year, creating a great opportunity to do some traveling. Some notable cities of past AGD meetings are Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Boston. Best of all, the majority of the event takes place from Thursday through Saturday. This makes it easier to schedule your travel plans without missing too many days in the office.

This conference is known for having some of the most advanced continuing education courses in the world. While dentists can attain CEs, they can also take courses that can be applied to AGD Fellowship and Mastership awards. There are multiple hands-on-education courses to enhance new skills and opportunities to be introduced to the newest technology in the industry. The conference offers some of the greatest resources and support for patient care and practice management.

2. Smiles at Sea

Need a reason to go on a cruise for work? Smiles at sea is the perfect getaway for your entire team. The Smiles at Sea Dental Conference is an all-inclusive, fun, family held conference on a ship offering CE credits and complimentary social amenities. The cruise even features dental vendors like you would see at most conferences on land.

According to their website, most CE courses are done when the cruise ship is docked, giving you ample time for shore excursions and amenities. You and your colleagues can even enjoy daily onboard activities such as karaoke, costume parties, and a dental fashion show.  What better way to  learn while cruising with your family and dental team.

3. Sirona World (Formerly CEREC)

The Sirona World conference is well known in the industry as the “Ultimate Dental Meeting” and does not disappoint. This meeting switches from Las Vegas to Orlando year to year and is known for its world class entertainment and captivating speakers. Some of the previous talent on the lineup include Will Smith, Richard Branson, Jerry Seinfeld, One Republic and Katy Perry.

The main lecture hall features an audio/visual production that rivals major US music festivals and nightclubs, and the exhibit hall features daily cuisine that will make you forget you’re attending a dental conference. If you’re looking for a one of a kind meeting, Sirona World is definitely worth the trip.
